Designhuis Eindhoven invited me to create a new living machine around color. From 28 March till August 2010.

I am working on a collaboration with Noorderparkkamer, Boerderijeducatie-amsterdam and Schooltuinen to develop a lessonprogramme for primaryschools in the North of Amsterdam. In these three lessons the children make a discovery trip around food in their local environment. They work on a farm, harvest their schoolyard and together with cooks the harvest is going to be tasted and created into new recipes. The recipes will be visualized by the children on a big scale to an exhibition. Finally the recipe-exhibition and their experiences will be small scaled into bundled booklets. The lessonprogramme starts in August/September and ends with a tastemarket in the Florapark on 26 september 2010.
In het weekend van 6 & 7 maart 2010 openen we wederom de deuren van onze studio's in het concordiagebouw. Je bent van harte uitgenodigd!
On 27 september 2009 there will be a 'taste market' in the Florapark in Amsterdam Noord based on local products. Every market stand has its own original way for children to experience where food is coming from. I will be there with my 'ice cream machine'. Cows included! Thanks to family Disseldorp for bringing their cows.
During my one week Artist in Residency in the Noorderparkkamer I made a local research how to make ice cream. My personal goal was to give insight about the principle of an ice cream-machine and the effort for collecting the ingredients. At the end of the week children (and adults) could experience the production of ice cream by collecting the 4 ingredients (milk, sugar, cream, currants) in the park and on a surprising way turning it into ice cream! more pics

For the whole summer Noorderparkkamer invites every week an artist to come over to Amsterdam North and starting up a project in their neighbourhood. They invited me to do something with ice. I feel a living icemachine comming up! www.noorderparkkamer.nl
Domestic Making, a house of possibilities. During DMY designfestival our department of the Sandberg Institute presented a reconstruction of the Heinz Minki appartment. Ideas and objects related to home and daily life were shown around an old stove. Part of the presentation has been a movie in which we were interviewed in our own houses about what domestic making means for us.

Pal West Modeatelier presenteert: Real / Niet alles is wat het lijkt. Je bent van harte welkom op: Zaterdag 9 mei 2009, om 15:00 of 20:00 uur. Garage Notweg 38, Amsterdam Osdorp. Voor meer informatie: www.palwestmode.nl

The first lessons started with the sewingmachine project! To give insight into objects most of us have at home, me and a class around the age of 11 are finding out how the sewingmachine works. I develop lessons, each from a different perspective and association. See images of lesson2 and lesson3.

Today the website is renewed and added with a blog! I go a little back in time and from September on showing the highlights. Another adding to my site is the Poll. Go have a look to my question and send your answer. A thanks to Lennart Pilon for the freshing up!
Students of Sandberg Institute have the chance to present their work on the autonomous design fair Object Rotterdam, filled with the latest design. Because my work starts from objects instead of resulting in one, it would be very interesting for me to be in this fair. In this platform I wanted to promote my way of working. So I brought the posters with me.

You might recognize it; Sometimes you find another line in your work. So did I! I placed some images of my latest projects together (www.thuisvlucht.nl & Opruiming Beekstraat 9 & Streetproject). They are now available in posters. Size 120 cm wide and about 30 cm high and are for sale for 5 euro each.

In January the third edition of Pal West Fashion atelier started. Together with a team of designers (fasion, product, graphic, etc.) we coach a group of teenagers for 5 months. The purpose is to stimulate the youngsters to search and develop their talents.

In this exhibition I launched my newest project Opruiming Beekstraat 9 (eng: clearing out Beekstraat 9). It is about the stuff my parents leave behind when they move out. All the stuff is on sale on www.annekejakobs.nl/opruimingbeekstraat9. It is comparable with ebay, but the difference is that the productspecifications are based on our familyhistory in the house. By archiving the rows in the site you can 'read' our familystories behind the stuff.
