Inkjetprinter at Beijing Designweek

‘Starting Something’ is a dynamic and growing exhibition during the Beijing Design Week 2013 presented by the guest city of Amsterdam. The exhibition will start an active dialog between alumni from Sandberg Institute of Amsterdam, Dutch designers and students of CAFA (Central Academy of Fine Arts) in Beijing.

‘Starting Something’ offers a platform to exhibit and focuses on creating opportunities to share, exchange, learn, collaborate and connect the creative industries of the cities of Amsterdam and Beijing.

Thirty suitcases filled with visions on the modern urban landscape, new use of material and the power of people will be brought from Amsterdam to Beijing. The content of the suitcases will be displayed on desks and will be the starting point for a series of lectures, workshops, master classes, talks and informal meetings between students of CAFA and Designers from the Netherlands. Among others, the works and vision of Aliki van der Kruijs, Anneke Jakobs, Arne Hendriks, Belle Nuankhanit Phromchanya, Christien Meindertsma, Dennis Schuivens, Esther Jongsma, Formafantasma, Franke Elshout, Guy Königstein, Hannes Bernard, Jeroen Wand, Jetske Visser, Jolan van der Wiel & Josha Roymans, Jorien Kemerink, Katrin Korfmann, Kirstie van Noort & Rogier Arents, Leanne Wijnsma , Lucas Maassen & Sons, Maartje Korstanje, Mieke Meijer, Raw Color and Studio Maarten Kolk & Guus Kusters, Roel Wouters, Roselien Beerten, Studio Moniker, Thomas Vailly, Tilmann Meyer Faye, Tim Enthoven and Sandberg Institute master department Vacant NL will be represented during the show.
